In
the 50s and 60s the six string
bass was used in Nashville recordings to double the acoustic bass lines.
This technique, referred to as
tic-tac
bass, produced bass lines with a distinctive click and presence that was
so prevalent in sound recordings of that era. These instruments have since
found their way into all styles of modern music. Normally played with a thin
pick and tuned E~to~E
one
octave below standard guitar. A great addition to any bass or guitar
